Long before we had the idea to build a lifestyle brand around skimboarding, my buddies Tim, Dane and I were just three normal guys hanging out on the tidal flats of British Columbia. We spent most summers at the beach – we like to call it home. The dog days were filled with road trips to random beach locations with our crew, competing in contests, and filming all our crazy antics along the way. So many good memories…

By the time we graduated to adulthood, our core group had become influential riders in flatland skimboarding. And to supplement our lives away from the sun and sand, we developed artistic talents as photographers, designers, filmers, and editors. So building a brand from our collective labor of love was a no brainer right? Tell that to our student loans, car payments, and overdue rent.

They weren’t so convinced. But it didn’t matter – we were already thinking big. So we took a shot at selling our custom designed skimboards and t-shirts out of the back of old pickup trucks. Kyda Creations officially hit the mainstream in the Fall of 2010, and with enough positive feedback and sales from the local scene, it was time to go big or go home.

As a company, Kyda Creations specializes in creating high performance skimboards and limited edition clothing that reflects our unique labor of love. We take a ton of pride on where we come from, so everything you see flying the Kyda banner has been manufactured right here in Canada. Our brand has become a representation of the combined efforts of athletes, artists, and musicians who all share a common love for the beach the powerful impact it has had on our lives.
